What is Ayurveda?

Pronounced: Aye-your-vay-duh

Translated, Ayurveda means “knowledge of life” and, more specifically, knowledge of you and how to understand your own mind and body type, stress triggers and your best path for living life.

Ayurveda is one of the oldest sciences regarding health with one of its nearest cousins being Traditional Chinese Medicine. Ayurveda provides a vast body of knowledge on the specific needs of your body and mind with consideration of the whole individual.

Ayurveda has two main goals:

  1. To preserve the health of the healthy — keeping you balanced throughout the journey of your life.

  2. To eradicate disease and imbalances in the sick — focusing on reversing disease process and removing toxins and pathogens from the body to “cure” the physiology of disease.

In my practice, I recognize that you were brought on to this planet completely perfect, and life simply got in the way. I will work with you on simple diet and lifestyle changes that can help you back to a state of balance and your best version of health.

For those of you that are already at optimum health, I will suggest specific opportunities to maintain that balance through each season while taking into account your unique characteristics.
